明けましておめでとうございます!

Hello blog! It's been a while. Have you been seeing other writers?

It's 2010, the year of the Tiger. MY year. I think it's going to be a good one. During winter vacation I took another, longer trip to Niseko up in Hokkaido for 8 straight days of snowboarding and 1 crazy night in Sapporo. Niseko may as well be Australia, by the looks of it. over half the people there are from Oz it seems. The goods and food there is generally westernized and overpriced, but we managed to find a really nice old izakaya nearby our hotel operated by a friendly elderly couple and populated by locals. It was nice to be in a place where we can't use English again :)

I love hokkaido food. They have
-Genghis Khan, a special type of seasoned lamb
-Miso ramen (often with corn and butter, which are also specialties of Hokkaido
-Crab. Oh my god dude, this crab is off the chain.
-Soup curry
-"Raw" caramel
-Really good chocolate.

Hi Mike,
Mom here! Talia, Dad and I just watched your youtube video! Talia wanted to know if you were coming home for Valentine's Day. We sure do miss you. I like hearing your voice.

I am seriously wanting to plan a trip to visit. Could you tell me what dates, if any, in spring would not stress you out. Oy I am turning more and more into an old Jewish mother...Then if we can figure out a time, how to plan a touristy, but not so much, trip which would include some time with you in Fukuoka.
Love you,
Mom
